Who’s Faking Data in Venice for their Agenda?

-

What Group Has Launched the Venice Resident Survey to Manufacture Data Supporting Massive Housing Projects, An Increase In Services to Encampments & the Expansion of RV Parking in Venice?

There is speculation that the City of Los Angeles, or a development group working with the City, has hired Tell That Story, Inc. (www.tellthatstory.org) — a PR firm specializing in electoral, political, issue advocacy, and community campaigns with no pretense of objective data collection and analysis – to administer a deceptive door-to-door survey in Venice to lock residents into responses that can be construed to support the radical expansion of homeless housing and services in our 3-square-mile community.

A copy of the survey is below:

Mike Bonin used the same cynical ploy to pave the way for his so-called “Plan to End Homelessness in Venice” (which lead to a 34% increase in the Venice homeless population last year) and the homeless storage facility across the street from Westminster Elementary School at Westminster Park. And we understand the City is also running a “survey” in Mar Vista to fabricate support for Bonin’s disastrous “Road Diet” (which Mar Vista residents have already rejected in the plainest possible terms).

We are fighting back by publicizing this latest anti-democratic outrage and submitting a Public Records request for all documents relating to Tell That Story, Inc.’s campaign activities on behalf of the City and City Officials.

HERE’S WHERE YOU COME IN:

  • All conventional responses to the survey will be used to advance Bonin’s plans to make Venice the designated homeless hub for L.A. west of Skid Row.
  • If you are asked to complete a survey:
    • Feel free to write in answers when those provided do not reflect your views.
    • Write on every page of the survey in large caps – “THIS SURVEY DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO CONVEY MY VIEWS. TO BE CLEAR, I OPPOSE THE CITY’S MASSIVE HOUSING PROJECTS IN VENICE.”
    • Scan or photograph your completed survey and email to: [email protected].
