All:We wanted to thank everyone for our tremendously successful meeting Thursday night. Fight Back, Venice! has never been in a better position financially and we could not be more optimistic as we enter this crucial new phase of the Stop the Monster campaign.
As we discussed at the meeting, your personal support – and generous donations – will enable us to move forward aggressively with our lawsuit to invalidate the PSH Ordinance, while also deploying the experts we need to attack the Draft Environment Impact Report (“EIR”) for the Reese-Davidson Community later this year.
We are also preparing a possible challenge to the Venice Local Coastal Program – which Bonin wants to use to strip Venice of Coastal Commission review for homeless housing projects – while continuing to serve and enforce requests for information relating to the Monster and such under the California Public Records Act.
A “quick read” fact sheet regarding the Monster on the Median is available here. We hope you will share it – along with this summary of our legal strategy – with your friends and colleagues, and urge them to get involved.
Also, please make sure to subscribe for updates at www.fightbackvenice.org, if you have not already done so.
To those who were not able to join us Thursday, we hope you will take a minute to learn more about the Monster on the Median – and the threat it poses to our community – on the Fight Back, Venice! website, and that you will consider making a contribution through the website or by mailing a check (payable to VENICE VISION) to following address:
Venice Vision
P.O. Box 545
Venice, CA 92094
With your support, we can Stop the Monster in its tracks and help Venice become the world class beach town that Abbot Kinney envisioned and that we all want it to be.
Thank you,
Chris, Marjorie, Darryl and the Rest of the FBV Team
