Special VNC Meeting Tonight

The Board of the Venice Neighborhood Council (“VNC”) is holding a special meeting tonight to vote on a motion to submit a letter to the City setting forth issues that should be addressed in the Environmental Impact Report (“EIR”) for the 2.8-acre Reese Davidson Community on the Venice Median (a.k.a. the “Monster on the Median”):
Board of Officers Special Meeting
Westminster Elementary School (Auditorium)
1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, 90291
Tuesday, January 15, 2018 at 7:00 PM
You can see the meeting agenda and a copy of the motion here.

We urge everyone who is concerned about the massive Monster on the Median to turn out to: (i) speak in support the motion and (ii) thank the VNC Board for taking a proactive approach to this issue and giving rank-and-file residents of Venice a chance to be heard.

This motion is important because the Monster on the Median would be the largest and most complex project in the modern history of Venice and the Venice Median is among the most prominent and important parcels in our community. Thus, all potential impacts should be examined carefully, including impacts with respect to traffic, parking, the delivery of emergency services / disaster relief, sea level rise, beach access and community aesthetics, to name a few.
For those who wish to submit their own comments on the scope of the EIR, the deadline is 4 p.m., Monday, January 21 (MLK Day).

All comments must be submitted in writing to:

Johnny Le
City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning
221 North Figueroa Street, Suite 1350
Los Angeles, California 90012

Fight Back, Venice! will be submitting a letter.
