As part of their plan to steamroll Venice, Garcetti and Bonin are staging a major public event in support of the massive homeless shelter that they want to build at the MTA Lot. .
DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Westminster Elementary School on October 17, 2018 6 pm – 8 pm.
In the past, the City and its allies in LA’s bloated social services sector have packed meetings like this with professional activists and other “out-of-towners” who support their views, and they are at it again.
The invitation to this “special community town hall discussion” – as Bonin calls it – was sent to all of CD 11 (not just Venice) and we hear that Bonin and Garcetti are teaming up with community activists to bus people in.
We cannot let them drown out the voices of hardworking, taxpaying Venice residents.
Please make every effort to show up and be heard on October 17. Garcetti and Bonin are asking people to reserve seats in advance: http://bit.ly/BridgeHomeVeniceTownHall
You can decide whether you want to give them your name (as required to make a reservation), but regardless, do not let them turn you away on the night of the event. All Venice residents have a right to be there … and to be heard.
Fight Back, Venice! is providing “Stop Dumping on Venice” signs for free. Please let us know if you would like one so we know how many to print. They will be available for pick up at our booths at Westminster Elementary School on the night of the event.
BE VISIBLE!
To maximize visibility, we are producing and selling Fight Back, Venice! t-shirts and hats for purchase for $20 each. Buy one here and pick it up on the night of the event at our Westminster Elementary Booth.
