Venice Community Housing claims that Venice is in support of their mega-development on the median. That is not true. As a Venice resident, I oppose the conversion of nearly 3 acres of existing open space for high density housing, parking structures and social enterprise operations in a residential area, so close to the beach, so close to the Venice boardwalk and so close to what remains of the historic Venice Canals. We want to help the homeless, but we demand solutions that are proportionate to what is being done in other parts of the City and consistent with the characteristics of our small, 3-square mile community.
